Roseville Police officers have arrested Jackson Robert Gall, 20, of Roseville, on suspicion of shooting his roommate, Nicholas Lee Hammer, 22.

At 5:06 a.m., a Roseville Police officer stopped a speeding vehicle on Sunrise Avenue near Kensington Drive, and found that one of the passengers, Nicholas Hammer, was injured with a gunshot  wound in his neck.  The officer called for emergency medical responders, and the victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. He is currently listed in critical condition.

The driver of the car was identified as the victim’s roommate, Jackson Gall.  Investigators found that the two had been socializing in their apartment with friends,  and for yet-unknown reasons, Gall allegedly shot Hammer once in the neck.  Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the shooting.

Gall is being held withoutย  bail in the Roseville City Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, and will be moved later to the Placer County Jail.ย
