Roseville, Calif. – Just before 12:30 p.m. yesterday (June 30th),  the Roseville Fire Department responded to the 300 block of Lincoln Street for reports of a structure fire.

Four Fire Engines, two Ladder Trucks, and four Chief Officers were dispatched to the incident. Upon arrival crews found heavy smoke coming from the two-story building. They also found the resident of the second floor hotel evacuating from the building.

The call was initially dispatched as a kitchen fire from the first floor restaurant and bar. It was later determined that the fire actually started in a room on the second floor but smoke was traveling in the walls of the building. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and work to ensure the flames did not spread into other areas of the historic building.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The building owner is working closely with the City of Roseville to get the residents back into their hotel rooms. No significant delay or long-term displacement is expected.

The Boxing Donkey, the restaurant/bar affected by the Fire is planning to re-open tomorrow, Tuesday, July 1 at 11:30 a.m.
