The Roseville Police Department is investigating a collision that took the life of a 27-year-old Citrus Heights man.

At 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 8, Roseville Police and Roseville Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a 1994 Nissan 4-door sedan, occupied by two people, colliding with a tree on Hickory Street at Church Street.  The driver, a 19-year-old Yuba City woman, was transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where she is listed in serious condition. The passenger, Joseph Carrel Cowles, 27, of Citrus Heights, was transported to SRMC, where he died Tuesday morning, February 10, as a result of his injuries.

The Roseville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the collision, and suspect that drug impairment was a factor.
