The Roseville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating a collision that took the life of a young motorcyclist.
At 2:37 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, Roseville Police and Fire personnel responded to Galleria Boulevard near Antelope Creek Drive, to a collision between a Mercedes sedan and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The female driver and only occupant of the sedan did not require ambulance transportation.
The sedan driver was turning left into the entrance to the Galleria mall from northbound Galleria Boulevard. The motorcyclist was riding southbound on Galleria Boulevard, and struck the sedan broadside.
The southbound lanes of Galleria Boulevard were closed for approximately four hours while collision investigators examined the scene. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. The motorcyclist’s name is being withheld pending notification of family.
