The Roseville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating a collision that took the life of a young motorcyclist.
At 2:37 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, Roseville Police and Fire personnel responded to Galleria Boulevard near Antelope Creek Drive, to a collision between a 2003 Mercedes Benz four-door sedan and a 2007 Honda motorcycle. Paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist, Igor Kravchuk, 21, of Sacramento, dead at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes, a 65 year-old woman from Granite Bay, did not require ambulance transportation.
The Mercedes was turning left into the entrance to the Galleria mall from northbound Galleria Boulevard. Mr. Kravchuk was riding his motorcycle southbound on Galleria Boulevard, and struck the Mercedes broadside.
The southbound lanes of Galleria Boulevard were closed for approximately four hours while collision investigators examined the scene. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
