Roseville, Calif.- On January 14, Roseville Police detectives arrested 33-year-old Michael Anthony Milan of Sacramento in connection with Monday’s carjacking of an occupied vehicle.
At about 4:30 p.m. Monday, January 12, Roseville officers responded to a call about suspicious activity in the greenbelt area of the Sierra Gardens neighborhood, near Sunrise Avenue and Douglas Boulevard. As officers were searching the area, dispatch received a call that a black Volkswagen Jetta had just been carjacked from in front of a store in the 1900 block of Douglas Boulevard, with a woman and young girl inside. The carjacker let the woman and girl out in the 300 block of North Sunrise Avenue before driving the stolen car out of the area.
After an intensive investigation, Roseville detectives served a search warrant at a home in north Sacramento County and arrested Milan. He was booked into the Placer County Jail on two counts of kidnapping during a carjacking and one count of carjacking, and is being held on $2.21 million bail.
We’re not releasing the suspect’s booking photo yet due to the ongoing investigation.
