Arrested for vandalism, resisting a peace officer

Rocklin, Calif.- An alert Rocklin Police Officer caught sight of two vandals in the act of spraying graffiti onto a brick wall last night at about 8:45 PM.

Officer Jeff Kolaskey was on patrol in a darkened alley to the rear of a large commercial building at 6681 Stanford Ranch Road. When the two male subjects spotted the officer, they took off running leaving behind cans of spray paint and their large “tags” not yet finished. Officer Kolaskey chased one of the two and caught up with him not far away. He possessed more cans of spray paint, large marking pens, and a “head” lamp. The other subject was not immediately found but an investigation by officers led to his identification a few hours later.

Brandon Russell Arellano, 18 years, of Rocklin, was arrested and booked into Placer County Jail for vandalism, resisting a peace officer in the performance of his duty, and conspiracy.  He has since bailed out of jail.

Kristopher Robert Hart, 21 years, of Rocklin, was cited and released in the field for the same charges.  He will be required to appear in court at a later time.

The unfinished tags were approximately 5′ x 5′ in size.
