Rocklin park fire causes thousands in damage

On Sunday morning, August 21, 2011 just prior to 3 am, Rocklin Officers and Rocklin Fire Department personnel responded to the report of a fire on the playground structure at Sunset East Park on Willowynd Drive in Rocklin.

A witness reported seeing three white males in their late teens to early twenties fleeing from the scene just prior to the fire. The males were dressed in t-shirts and shorts and were last seen entering a dark green late 90’s model compact car (unknown make or model).

The park structure suffered more than $6,000 damage.
