An intermediate school student reported being grabbed by an unknown male when she was on a walking trail near Eich Intermediate School on the morning of August 25th.ย

The student reported that at about  8:45 a.m. today (Thursday, August 25), she was walking to school on a dirt trail that runs along Linda Creek in the open space area between Rocky Ridge Drive and the campus on Sierra Gardens Drive.  She reported that as she was walking, an unknown male came up from behind her, put his arm across her throat in a choke hold, then released her and ran away.  The student ran to school and reported the incident to school authorities.  The student had some bruising on her neck, but didn’t report any other injuries from the encounter.

The suspect was described as a white male adult wearing a black visor, black shirt and black shorts with white stripes. The student had seen him jogging on the trail just before the attack.  Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the suspect or any witnesses to the incident.

We recommend that students who are walking to school through the open space area travel in pairs or groups.ย ย  Anyone who may have seen a man matching the suspect’s description in the open space area, or who has any other information about this incident is asked to call Roseville Crime Stoppers at (916)783-7867.
