ROCKLIN, Calif., – William Jessup University’s 7th Annual University Fund Dinner raised over $120K for student scholarships last weekend at the Rocklin based campus. The event honored Bob Reeve and Joe Knight, founders of Reeve Knight Construction Inc., with the 2011 Faith and Service Award for the pair’s philanthropic, leadership and service based activities throughout the Sacramento region and beyond.

“It was truly a phenomenal evening, to see our surrounding community come together to honor these exemplary men and to recognize the importance of Christ centered higher education in our region,” said Jessup’s Vice President of Development, Eric Hogue. “As a Christian Liberal Arts University, we continue to be humbled by the generosity of our constituents as we maintain our model of academic excellence in our program offerings.”

WJU is the first and only WASC accredited private four-year residential university to have its main campus located in the greater Sacramento area, offering 17 different majors within the traditional program of study and the School of Professional Studies, geared for working professionals. The university is also a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU).

All proceeds go toward student scholarships. This year, William Jessup University has awarded just over 5.5 million in institutional aid.

The funds raised during the 2011 dinner represent a 60 percent increase over the amount raised in 2010.

In July, the university announced a $17 million campus expansion, naming Reeve Knight Inc. as general contractors for the project. The construction will add a full-feature dining facility, an intercollegiate gymnasium, multiple classrooms, and music practice rooms. The new, 54,000-square-feet facilities are expected to be completed by fall 2012.
