Ten year old Ashley Walcker and Roseville Public Safety Dispatcher Sondra Christian will be honored during the Placer 9-1-1 Heroes Award Ceremony by the international public safety organization 9-1-1 for Kids on Thursday, June 23 at 11 a.m. at the Yard House restaurant at The Fountains in Roseville.

On April 20, 2011, ten-year-old Ashley Walcker called 9-1-1 when her mother had difficulty breathing and collapsed.  Ashley remained calm and carefully followed Dispatcher Sondra Christian’s instructions to get appropriate immediate emergency assistance for her mother.  Ashley’s call models the behavior other youngsters should exhibit when using the 9-1-1 system.  Because of Ashley’s bravery and quick thinking, her mother was able to make a full recovery.
