Rocklin, Calif.- On October 22, 2012, at approximately 3:00 PM, Rocklin Police responded to the area of Sierra College Blvd and Ridge Park Drive on the report of an attempted carjacking.

It was reported that a white male subject believed to be in his 20’s had exited a sedan that had stalled in the #1 southbound lane of Sierra College Blvd. The subject then entered the lanes of traffic on foot and attempted to stop two separate vehicles traveling on Sierra College Blvd. He attempted to open the vehicle doors and force the occupants out of the vehicle.

After failing to enter another vehicle, the subject threw the keys from the initial car he exited and fled the area on foot. He was described as a white male adult in his 20’s with baggy jeans and a black pullover sweatshirt. It was reported that the suspect was possibly armed with a handgun.ย 

A perimeter was set up by responding officers and the subject was located hiding in a field a short distance from the scene. He was taken into custody without incident and no handgun was found. The subject was identified to be Alan W. Rose (D.O.B. 03/19/86) of Sacramento. Rose was later booked at the Placer County Jail on the following charges:

  • Attempted Carjacking (664/215 PC) – a felony
  • Child Endangerment 273A (a) PC – a felony
  • Violation of Domestic Violence Restraining Order (273.6 PC) – a misdemeanor
