Auburn, Calif. – Financial assistance grants to three local community water purveyors were approved Monday (Apr. 29) by the Placer County Water Agency Board of Directors.
The four funded projects share a total $31,000 made available through this year’s PCWA Financial Assistance Program. Since 1993, PCWA has granted more than $1.6 million to local water purveyors in Placer County.
The 2013 grants include:
- $5,000 to the Christian Valley Park Community Services District for a water system mapping project and storage tank location study;
- $15,000 to the Tahoe City Public Utility District for a feasibility study on interconnections and backup water supplies along the West Shore of Lake Tahoe;
- Two grants totaling $11,000 to the Foresthill Public Utility District. The district plans to use $4,000 to add digital data recording equipment at its water treatment plant and $7,000 to add backup analyzers at the water treatment plant;
In other business, PCWA directors:
- heard a presentation from Director of Financial Services Joseph Parker and Cory Biggs, a certified public accountant and engagement partner with Maze & Associates, of Pleasant Hill, on the 2012 financial audit of the agency. Biggs reported that the agency’s financial statements fairly present its financial position and that its financial records are kept in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
