The public and media are invited to attend a dedication ceremony highlighting the opening of the City’s 60th park. Mel Hamel Park contains a children’s play and swing area, water feature/mister, covered picnic area, soccer field, sand volleyball court and a half court for basketball.
Mel Hamel has been a resident of Roseville since 1972. He spent 34 years in the public school sector; the majority of those he held the role of Principal at Sierra Gardens, Cirby and Spanger Schools in Roseville. Hamel also served 10 years on the City Council, including one term as mayor.
