On May 1, 2014 at approximately 8:50 p.m., a dark metallic blue GMC Sierra truck was traveling southbound on Roseville Road approaching Outlook Drive.
A black 2005 KMT motorcycle, driven by Gavril Suiugan, was traveling northbound on Roseville Road approaching Outlook Drive. The driver of the GMC turned left directly in the path of the motorcyclist. The motorcycle struck the right side of the GMC and Suiugan was ejected off of the motorcycle.
Suiugan, a 20 year old male from Fair Oaks, died at the scene. The driver of the GMC Sierra fled the scene.
CHP Special Investigative Unit investigators were able to determine that the suspect driving the GMC Sierra was Nicolas Reza. Reza was contacted on 6/4/14 and confessed to driving the vehicle which collided with the motorcycle and caused the fatal injuries to Gavril Suiugan.
Reza was arrested on 6/4/14 at 7:45 p.m. and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for 192(C)(2)PC – Misdemeanor Vehicular Manslaughter, 20001(B)(2)VC – Felony Hit and Run, and 14601.2VC – Misdemeanor Driving with a Suspended License.
