Experienced educator with local roots
Roseville, Calif.- Kirsten Acke will become Thomas Jefferson Elementary School’s principal starting in the 2016/17 school year.
Most recently, Kirsten served as principal of a preschool-5th grade school in San Juan Unified School District. She has nearly 20 years experience in education and has held positions, such as a vice principal and teacher on special assignment, focusing on Professional Learning and Innovation. She also has 15 years classroom experience, and her areas of strength include literacy, instructional coaching, and extensive knowledge of the state’s newest standards. She was recognized by her former district as Teacher of the Year in 2011.
Kirsten grew up in Placer County and is an alumna of the district. She graduated from W. T. Eich Middle School (Go Wildcats!),and Oakmont High School. She received a Bachelor’s degree from Humboldt State and is finishing her master’s degree at the University of LaVerne.
She lives in Rocklin with her husband, David, a school psychologist, and her daughter, Jordan (17) and son, Austin (13).
