Rocklin, Calif. – ย– William Jessup University and the women’s basketball program are proud to announce the signing of Del Oro graduate Meghan Huckaby.ย  Huckaby, of Foresthill, Ca spent her senior year as a member of the SFL Champion Golden Eagles after starring previously for three years as a Varsity player at Freedom Christian School.ย

Huckaby, a 5’10’ guard, averaged six points, four rebounds, and two steals a game, helping lead DO to an undefeated SFL season, and a 26-2 overall record.  With exceptional range on her jump shot and an aggressive rebounding mentality, Meghan was a force on both ends of the floor for the Eagles.  Huckaby was also an honorable mention for the all-SFL team, and had a career high 26 points against league rival Nevada Union as she went 6-8 from behind the arc.

‘I have had the pleasure of knowing Meghan for the better part of two years, as well as having had the opportunity to coach her in AAU ball.  She is a very well-rounded player, who can impact the game with her shooting ability, her offensive rebounding, and her great defense.  She is also one of the best people I have had the pleasure of being around, and will contribute much to Jessup as an athlete, an academic, and a person.’ Assistant Coach Melissa Triebwasser said.

Huckaby joins a solid incoming freshman class for the Lady Warriors, who will look to win their first Cal Pac title under new coach Guin Boggs.ย
