Granite Bay and Lake Tahoe Service Centers Affected

Due to budget cutbacks, the Placer County Sheriff’s Department is closing down service centers in Granite Bay and Lake Tahoe.

The Granite Bay Service Center will be closing January 9, 2009 and the Kings Beach Service Center has already closed. The Carnelian Bay patrol office at Lake Tahoe has also been closed.

There are no plans for a cutback in service levels, just a redistribution of resources to reduce overhead costs.

The Kings Beach and Carnelian Bay operations have been moved to the Tahoe City Substation. The Granite Bay Service Center operations will be moved to the South Placer Substation in Loomis.
