Rocklin, Calif. – Brandie Murrish, no stranger to success in college basketball, has been named the new head coach of Sierra College’s women’s basketball team. For the past six seasons, Murrish has been Head Coach at Bishop Alemany High School, a premier Catholic High School in Southern California, where she brought her team to CIF Division Finals and Conference Championships.

Brandie also earned the title of 2005-2006 CIF Southern Section Coach of the Year.Prior to her position as head coach, Ms. Murrish was the Assistant Coach at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA, where from 1998-2000 her teams won the SCIAC Championship and finished in the NCAA 2nd Round.

Her educational experience is just as impressive. Brandie Murrish holds two Masters Degrees; one in Education, Instructional Technology from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona and a Master’s of Science in Kinesiology from California State University, Northridge.

As a student and basketball player at Butte College, Brandie earned the title of Butte County Sophomore Athlete of the Year. Later as a student athlete at California Lutheran University, Brandi was awarded 1st Team All-Southern California Interscholastic Athletic Conference.

When asked how she feels about her new position at Sierra College, Brandie said ‘I would like to thank the administration for the opportunity to continue the tradition of excellence that has been established within the Women’s Basketball program. There is an abundance of talent in Placer County and I look forward to getting out into the local gyms this summer and seeing these teams in action.’
