Around 3:30 p.m. on Monday July 16th, the Roseville Fire Department was dispatched to a grass fire in West Roseville near the intersection of Fiddyment Road and Hayden Parkway. The 1,300-acre fire has destroyed a barn and is traveling north-northeast due to winds.

So far, 17 fire engines, one strike team with five additional fire engines, two helicopters and two air tankers have responded to this incident.   Numerous fire agencies from both Placer and Sacramento counties, as well as resources from CAL-Fire assisted in the firefighting efforts.

Investigators are arriving on scene and will begin the process of determining the cause of the fire, which is unknown at this time.
