At approximately 11:20pm last night (June 20, 2015), the Rancho Cordova Police Department responded to multiple noise complaints regarding a loud party within the 3600 block of Sarament Court in Rancho Cordova.ย  Officers estimated approximately 100 people at a party and dispersed the crowd.ย 

At 2:10am this morning, Officers returned to the area of Sarament Court and Burline Street after receiving calls regarding a large fight and reports of gunshots.

Upon their arrival, Officers discovered a 17-year old Hispanic male unconscious in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound.  Officers provided emergency life-saving efforts to the victim, however he was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. 

Two other gunshot victims related to this incident were transported to area hospitals by private vehicle.  One victim, a white male in his 20’s, underwent immediate surgery with life threatening injuries.  The second gunshot victim, a black male in his 20’s, is being treated for his injury which was deemed non-life threatening. At least two other assault victims related to the fight during this incident were also transported to the hospital by private vehicle and treated for non-life threatening injuries. 

Sacramento Sheriff Homicide Detectives have responded to the scene.ย  Preliminary information suggests a large crowd of people came back to the party after Officers originally dispersed the crowd and became engaged in a violent fight and shooting.ย  While they continue to track down party attendees who may have witnessed the assault and shootings, Detectives ask anyone with information relating to this incident, to please contact the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP.ย 

The homicide victim’s name will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once his identity is confirmed and notification to next of kin has been completed.
