Roseville, Calif.,- While operating at a late night emergency incident, a Roseville firefighter narrowly escaped injury when a suspected drunk driver drove through an emergency scene.

Firefighters were working at an emergency incident at 707 Sunrise Blvd. when a man drove his 1992 Mazda sedan through the parking lot, first striking a parked ladder truck and then narrowly missing a firefighter who was walking in the same area. The firefighter took the driver’s keys away and detained him until Roseville police officers arrived.

Fortunately there were no injuries and only minor damage to the ladder truck. The driver, Thomas Rolland Michael, 57, of Roseville was arrested on suspicion of DUI and driving on a suspended license.  He’s in custody in the Placer County Jail on $50,000 bail.
