The Roseville City Council will consider investing up to $3 million in Strategic Improvement Funds, monies set aside for this kind of one-time investment, which are not part of the city’s general fund.ย  Upgrades to the site, which is city-owned, would be matched on a dollar-for-dollar basis by the Roseville Automall Association.

The Automall began as a public-private partnership and this latest project continues that strategy.ย  The agreement will upgrade signage, display areas and the wall at the Roseville Automall.

The Automall is the City’s single largest source of sales tax revenues, contributing on average $10 million a year to the City’s General Fund. The Automall has provided $94.9 million in tax revenues to the City since 1993, and currently has 21 dealerships on the premises.

With approximately a dozen local dealerships closing since April, maintaining a strong relationship with the Automall is a high priority, especially as existing and future locations in the area compete aggressively to attract new dealerships.ย Projected tax revenues from the dealerships, over the next 15 years, range from $162-264 million, depending on sales growth.
