At its first meeting of the new year on Tues., Jan. 13, 2009, First District Supervisor F.C. “Rocky” Rockholm was selected by the Placer County Board of Supervisors as the Chairman for 2009. Rockholm, whose district includes the majority of Roseville and unincorporated area west to the county line, served as Vice-Chair in 2008. Fourth District Supervisor Kirk Uhler, whose district includes the community of Granite Bay and parts of Roseville, was selected by the Board as Vice-Chair.

Rockholm thanked outgoing Chairman Jim Holmes, who represents District 3, for his service. ‘Jim did an outstanding job leading the Board this past year,’ said Rockholm. ‘It was my great honor to work with him.’

In another action, three supervisors participated in a ceremonial administration of their oaths of office with Placer County Clerk-Recorder Registrar of Voters Jim McCauley officiating. Newly elected Fifth District Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery, Rockholm and Holmes all took their oath at the meeting.

As required by state law, the three supervisors previously took their official oath of office. Uhler was sworn in on Dec. 31, 2008; Montgomery and Holmes were sworn in on Jan. 5, 2009.
