On July 23, 2008, at about 8:10 PM Rocklin Police responded to the area of the 7-11 Food Mart located at Sierra College Blvd. and Granite Drive for a report of a vehicle into the building. A secondary report of a Hit and Run collision was also being reported in the area of Sierra College Blvd. and the new I-80 Overpass a very short distance away.

Officers responded to both locations and determined that the same vehicle, a white van, had been involved in the Hit and Run collision on the overpass as was involved in the collision at 7-11.

The driver of the other involved vehicle on the overpass, a 59-year old man from Penryn, suffered cuts and bruises. He was transported to SRMC via AMR where he was treated.

An investigation determined that the driver of a white GMC Minivan had caused the Hit and Run collision and then driven away. The vehicle was subsequently driven into the gas pumps located at the 7-11 Food Mart. There was no fire.

When officers arrived on scene the female driver of the GMC Minivan was still in the driver’s seat. The officers noticed that the driver displayed signs of alcohol intoxication. The driver was arrested for Felony Hit and Run causing an injury and Felony Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Drugs (Causing injury to someone other than the driver).

Arrested: Cynthia F. Donaldson, 50 years old, of Fair Oaks ย– Booked into Placer County Jail.
