At 3:17 p.m. on Monday, July 23, Placer County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Nortech Waste Facility at 3033 Fiddyment Road. A worker at the facility was sorting trash for recyclable items and discovered the body of the baby, with its umbilical cord still attached, in a plastic bag. Other items found nearby led investigators to a residence in west Roseville. The mother of the baby is an Oregon woman in her twenties, who gave birth while she was in Roseville visiting friends.
The Roseville Police Department is continuing to actively investigate the incident.
