Placer County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a 14-year-old boy this afternoon on charges of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 14 at an Auburn day care center. The center was shut down by a state agency today.
The boy, whose name will not be released due to his age, was taken into custody at Colored Pencils Preschool and Child Care at 13335 Luther Road in Auburn. The boy, who is related to the preschool owner, lives in the home that is part of the day care center.

He is currently being questioned at the Placer County Sheriff’s Office and will be booked at Placer County Juvenile Hall in Auburn.
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case along with the State Department of Social Services, which closed down the preschool today.
