Derek Hillgert, a transient from, Sacramento was arrested by Rocklin Police and charged following a vehicle burglary.
On February 11, 2015 at approximately 3:35AM, the Rocklin Police Department responded to the area of Timberline Way for a reported vehicle burglary.
Responding officers saturated the area and began a search of the neighborhood for suspects to determine if there were additional victims. During a search of the area, a Rocklin officer saw a suspicious vehicle and ran a license plate check. The check indicated the vehicle was reported stolen out of the city of Sacramento.
The Rocklin officers followed the stolen vehicle on to Highway 65 and conducted a high-risk stop with the assistance from the Lincoln Police Department and the Roseville Police Department. The driver of the stolen vehicle was taken into custody without incident. A large amount of stolen property was located inside the vehicle. Rocklin police are investigating several additional theft reports from the Timberline Way area.
