Wednesday evening, January 28, Roseville Police investigators arrested a man who advertised a laptop computer for sale on Sacramento Craigslist, the Internet classified ad website.  The laptop computer was identified as one stolen from a vehicle parked in a hotel parking lot in Roseville on January 21.

On January 21, a San Diego man reported that his rental sedan, which was parked in a hotel parking lot in the 1900 block of Taylor Road in Roseville, had been broken into. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger window and took a laptop computer and a purse.

The victim returned to San Diego, but searched for his laptop on Sacramento Craigslist.  He soon found one advertised for sale that matched his, including unique prior damages and configuration. He forwarded information about the seller to Roseville Police detectives.

A Roseville Police investigator called the Craigslist seller and arranged to meet to purchase the laptop. They met in a parking lot on Fairway Drive. The detective recovered the stolen computer, and arrested the seller.

Ahmad Sami Nassar, 22, of Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property and driving on a suspended license. He was released from the Roseville City Jail after posting a $5,000 bail bond.
