Whitall is suspected of entering restaurants in Roseville on February 6 and again on February 10, posing as an inspector from Cal-OSHA (California Occupational Safety and Health).  He was neatly dressed and wore an official-looking identification card and a badge, and spent a considerable amount of time “inspecting” each restaurant. He then told the owners that they had safety violations that would cost them several thousands of dollars in fines, but that he would not cite them if the owner gave him some cash. He received cash from each victim.

Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to call the Roseville Police Department at (916)774-5000, or Roseville Crime Stoppers at (916)783-7867. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous information leading to arrest.
