Perfect Fun at El Dorado Wines Passport Weekend

Fair Play, Calif. – California is always full of surprise. This weekend marked our return to El Dorado Wines Passport Weekend. Last year’s event was such a blast, we committed to do it again.

Last year, we spent our time noodling and enjoying Placerville area wineries. For 2018, we decided to weave our way through the scenic country roads of the Fair Play area. Once again, we came away from Passport Weekend in awe. The participating wineries know how to throw a party.

Delicious wines, food and fun all set against spectacular scenery and weather topping a sunny 74 degrees. If there were any drawbacks, we couldn’t detect any in our 9 winery visits. It was an afternoon of perfect fun in the country.

INSIDER TIPS

Plotting a general course of wineries you plan to visit is a time saver. Also, if you aren’t familiar with the area grab GPS directions of your next stop when possible as cell service isn’t always available in all locations.

This weekend marks the 27th year of Passport Weekend and the nearly three decades of experience of how to throw a party is clearly evident. At each winery, we noted how smoothly everything runs and each host we chatted with was relaxed and all smiles.

Passport Weekend remains one of region’s signature annual events and we can’t wait to return!
