Access Coveted Beyond the Boundaries Terrain

Olympic Valley, Calif.- Following more than four feet of new snow, Alpenglow Expeditions will offer a 20% midweek discount on its Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows lift-accessed backcountry tours. These tours, which access the National Geographic Bowl or Tram Ridge zones at Squaw Valley, or the Munchkins zone at Alpine Meadows, provide skiers and riders with guided access to unique backcountry terrain while using the resort as an access point.

National Geographic Bowl

Located beyond the closed boundary atop Granite Peak, groups exit the boundary north of the peak, skiing a variety of terrain, from steep, aggressive lines to mellow, low-angle trees.

Tram Ridge

Located on the north side of the ridge between Aerial Tram towers 1 and 2, this zone can be accessed utilizing the chairs at Squaw Valley, making for quick laps.

Munchkins

Located to the Northeast of Scott Chair at Alpine Meadows, this zone offers the ability to shuttle a vehicle, making access easy.

Alpenglow Expeditions has guides available seven days a week, with tours starting at 8am in order to be ready for the first chair loads at 9am. All tours are guided by American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA) trained ski guides with extensive knowledge of the terrain surrounding Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. With their extensive training they are able to expertly lead groups into and out of the backcountry.

Alpenglow Expeditions also has an extensive demo fleet with Blizzard skis, Tecnica boots, Jones Splitboards and all necessary avalanche rescue equipment.
