Experienced public sector IT Veteran begins post October 11


Fairfield, Calif.- Fairfield City Manager Stefan Chatwin is pleased to announce the selection of Savita Chaudhary as the first Director of the City’s newly formed Information Technology Department.

Chaudhary has over 15 years of experience in the public sector and recently served as IT Director for the City of Berkeley and Chief Information Officer for Vacaville.

Narrow the digital divide

“I am excited to join the community and City of Fairfield leadership team in supporting its mission to enhance digital experiences for all residents,” Chaudhary stated. “I look forward to working with the Council, City Manager, department heads, and staff in building a strong Department of Information Technology that will bring value to the organization, ensure community-based service delivery, and narrow the digital divide.”

Chatwin is extremely pleased to have Chaudhary join the City’s senior leadership team, “With a key vision to further secure and optimize city services, especially in the wake of Covid-19, I look forward to seeing where Savita will take Fairfield in the coming years.”

Chaudhary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Master of Science in Statistics, Delhi University Delhi, India, and a Master of Public Administration, Golden Gate University. She begins with the City of Fairfield on October 11.
