The victim was flown by helicopter to UCD med center for treatment of severe burn injuries. His condition is not known at this time.
Preliminary investigation by Sheriff’s Detectives has indicated the victim was driving the vehicle and the suspect was a passenger when the suspect doused the victim with gasoline. However, it is not yet clear whether the vehicle as in motion when the gasoline ignited.
The suspect was taken to Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital in Auburn for treatment of her injuries. She was released into the custody of Sheriff’s deputies and booked into the Placer County Jail on a charge of attempted homicide.
