Placer County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested 21 yr old Traci Nicole Gilson for allegedly setting her boyfriend on fire with gasoline Friday morning. The incident apparently began as a heated argument between the victim, 19 yr old Allan Lane Scott and Traci Gilson. Both were observed in a heated argument earlier in the morning by witnesses in different locations of the Foresthill area.

A utility worker driving on Foresthill Rd at approximately 9:00 a.m. observed a vehicle engulfed in flames and saw Traci Gilson and Allan Scott outside the vehicle. The victim had suffered severe burns and fled the scene into the nearby forest before emergency personnel could arrive to render aid. The suspect was located by Foresthill Fire personnel a short distance from the vehicle; she had also suffered burn injuries. The victim was found a short time later by paramedics after he sought help from a relative.

The victim was flown by helicopter to UCD med center for treatment of severe burn injuries. His condition is not known at this time.
Preliminary investigation by Sheriff’s Detectives has indicated the victim was driving the vehicle and the suspect was a passenger when the suspect doused the victim with gasoline. However, it is not yet clear whether the vehicle as in motion when the gasoline ignited.

The suspect was taken to Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital in Auburn for treatment of her injuries. She was released into the custody of Sheriff’s deputies and booked into the Placer County Jail on a charge of attempted homicide. The underlying motive and nature of the argument that preceded this incident is still under investigation.
