Woman Arrested for Killing Own Mother

Placer County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a Sheridan home at around 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon for a reported domestic dispute.

Once on scene, they found Maria Bejenariu, 61, who had been stabbed. She was transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.

At the home on Andressen Road, detectives arrested the victim’s daughter, Ana Maria Bejenariu, 32. She was transported to the Placer County Jail in Auburn where she’s being booked on a murder charge. 

Sheridan is located approximately 8 miles north of Lincoln with a population of about 1,200.
