Between  8:15 a.m. and 9:25 a.m. yesterday, March 9, two homes in west Roseville were targeted by a burglar. Both residents saw the burglar, who fled without taking anything.

At 8:13 a.m., a resident of the 1800 block of Bottlebrush Circle reported hearing scraping noises at her backyard window.  She saw the window screen fall off her window, and a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt standing outside.  The resident barricaded herself inside the house and used her cell phone to call for help. The suspect left without entering the house.

At 9:25 a.m., a resident of the 2500 block of Tradewinds Drive, approximately 5 miles north of Bottlebrush Circle, heard a banging sound on the side of his house. He then heard someone moving around downstairs. The resident went downstairs and encountered a male holding a crowbar. The burglar ran out the front door. A witness in the area saw the suspect get into the passenger’s side of a silver compact sedan, which sped away towards Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard.

The suspect in both incidents was described as a male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The suspect on Tradewinds Drive was further described as a clean-shaven black, Hispanic or mixed-race male, 6’1″ tall, with a medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans with red markings.
