Roseville, Calif.-ย The Placer County Coroner has identified the victim in yesterday’s fatal traffic collision as Dale Edwin Purdy, 61, of Roseville.

At 4:36 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, the Roseville Police and Fire Departments responded to a collision involving a pedestrian on Baseline Road just east of Junction Boulevard.

According to witnesses, a 2006 Kenworth cement mixer was traveling west on Baseline Road approaching Junction Boulevard, when for unknown reasons Mr. Purdy stepped from the north side of the road into the path of the cement mixer and was struck.

Mr. Purdy was transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.Baseline Road was closed for approximately five hours between Junction Boulevard and Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard while the Roseville Police Department’s Major Injury Accident Team investigated the scene.ย ย ย
