Roseville, Calif.- A number of vehicle burglaries have been reported to the Roseville Police Department over the past few weeks. Most of the break-ins have occurred at night in residential areas, although thieves are also hitting hotel, fitness center and golf course parking lots during both daytime and nighttime hours.ย  The thieves will steal from unlocked vehicles when they can find them, but are frequently breaking vehicle windows and taking valuables, especially small electronic items like portable navigation systems.

Last night at least six vehicles parked in residential neighborhoods in the Cirby Side and Cresthaven neighborhoods south of Cirby Way had their windows smashed and property taken. The thieves appeared to be targeting portable GPS navigation systems, even some that had been stashed out of sight in the vehicles.

Residents are urged to park vehicles inside locked garages at night if possible. All valuables, including portable navigation units and garage door openers, should be removed from vehicles that are parked outside.  Call police immediately to report any suspicious noises or suspicious persons in the area.
