United Auburn Indian Community and Thunder Valley Casino to Donate $100,000 to Area Charities

The United Auburn Indian Community and Thunder Valley Casino are helping mark the casino’s third anniversary by donating $100,000 to ten Placer County charitable organizations on Thursday, June 29 at both 11:00 a.m. and again at 8:00 p.m.

The ten charities are: Lighthouse Counseling and Family Resource Center, Friends of the Lincoln Library, Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of Auburn, Magic Circle Theatre, St. Vincent de Paul Society of Roseville, PEACE for Families, Rocklin Historical Society, Assistance League of Greater Placer and Legal Services of Northern California.

The United Auburn Indian Community has been impressed by the work these charities do to improve the community as well as helping their neighbors. Each organization will have representatives on hand to receive their donation and make brief remarks. Tribal Chairwoman and Thunder Valley Casino CEO Jessica Tavares, as well as Casino General Manager Scott Garawitz will present each organization with a donation.

The United Auburn Indian Community, founder of the Community Giving Program, owns and operates the successful Thunder Valley Casino.  A federally recognized Indian tribe, the United Auburn Indian Community is a sovereign government, making the establishment of its philanthropic fund even more unique.  The Tribe receives no tax advantage for making a charitable contribution to any group.
