At 12:20 a.m. Sunday morning, October 29, Roseville Police Department officers responded to an in-progress robbery at a home in the 1300 block of Hidalgo Circle.

A few minutes after the first Roseville officer arrived on scene, two masked suspects exited the house, carrying firearms and backpacks.  One of the suspects, Joseph Garcia, surrendered immediately to the officer. The other suspect fled on foot, but was apprehended by other officers a few blocks away.

Officers recovered marijuana and other items suspected to have been taken from the home. Officers also recovered a handgun and what appears to be a fully automatic rifle.

One of the three occupants of the house had been pistol-whipped by the suspects, but declined medical attention. The other two occupants did not report being injured.

Joseph Lawrence Garcia, 18, of Vallejo is being held in the Placer County Jail on suspicion of first degree robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a firearm, and conspiracy. His bail is set at $100,000.

A 17-year-old male from Antelope is being held without bail in Placer County Juvenile Hall on the same charges. His name is being withheld because he is a juvenile.
