On March 10, Officer Chris Nowicki received the Local First Responder Award from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Roseville Post 1478.ย  The VFW also selected Nowicki for their statewide award.

Officer Nowicki, a 14-year-veteran of the Roseville Police Department, was selected for the award for his community work as a K9 handler, his teamwork as a patrol beat officer, and his work as a neighborhood officer for the Folsom Greens and Royer Park areas.

Officer Andrew Bonner, who has served with the Roseville Police Department for six years, was honored recently by Mothers Against Drunk Drivers at both the regional and state level for his work as a DUI enforcement officer.

Last year Officer Bonner was the top DUI arresting officer in the greater Sacramento region with 135 DUI arrests.ย  Bonner, who has arrested nearly 600 DUI drivers during his law enforcement career, also enjoys working with youth in DUI-prevention programs like Every Fifteen Minutes, and serves on the board of Full Circle Treatment Center, a local non-profit organization that provides substance abuse treatment for adolescents.ย  MADD and the Roseville Police Department recognize that every DUI arrest makes the roadways safer for all law-abiding motorists, and saves lives.

The Roseville Police Department is proud of Officers Nowicki and Bonner and the work they do keeping the community safe.  We thank the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Mothers Against Drunk Drivers for recognizing these outstanding officers.
