Third Annual Rocklin Run for the Gold

The first Rocklin Run For The Gold, held in March 2004, was extremely successful. The 5K Run/Walk and 12K Run attracted over 900 runners and walkers and provided over $8,000 in support for the Front Street Heritage Park Project.

The 2005 event was even bigger, with over $11,000 in donations going to benefit the Rocklin Library. All of this was the result of hard work by community volunteers, generous support of sponsors and providers, and all of the runners and walkers who participated in the event.

This year”s event promises to be even bigger, with proceeds benefiting community service programs in the City of Rocklin, such as the Rocklin School District and Rocklin Police, Fire, Parks and Recreation Departments.

The 2006 Run/Walk is being organized and managed by Elephant Ideas, a Rocklin-based company. Elephant Ideas, the producers of RunnersID.com, was the Title Sponsor for the first two years of Rocklin Run For The Gold. Larry Osborne, owner of Elephant Ideas, a Rocklin resident and avid runner, will serve as Race Director. Giuseppe Petrillo, a Rocklin resident, California Family Fitness Membership Consultant and distance runner, will act as Marketing/Event Manager.

Rocklin Run For The Gold is seeking participants, sponsors, providers and volunteers to help make 2006’s event the best one yet. Challenge yourself with a race, run or walk through beautiful and scenic Rocklin. Enjoy a Sunday morning adventure on the streets of Rocklin, then join us for a festive post-event celebration, complete with trophies, awards and great food. Sponsorships are available from $250 – $7,500. Entry fees are $30 prior to March 1, $35 March 2 – 25, and $40 at the event. The Elephant Ideas Foundation will provide a nonprofit ID number for those desiring to make a tax-related donation.
