Stateline, Nev. – The Ridge Tahoe said “I do” to investing $2 million to expand wedding and conference capabilities for the newly renovated 3,700 square foot Castle Rock Event Space.

Situated on 11 acres at 7,600 feet overlooking the Carson Valley, the resort combines desirable amenities with year-round outdoor recreation that makes Lake Tahoe one of the country’s most popular destinations. Managed by Resorts West, The Ridge Tahoe offers 302 units ranging from one and two-bedroom condominiums to deluxe hotel room suites, year-round vacation rentals with full kitchens, living room, fireplace and washer/dryers.

South Lake Tahoe is a leading destination for weddings, corporate and special events and celebrations year-round. The Ridge Tahoe is recognized among the top 20 mountain wedding venues in the country by the editors at Wedding Wire Magazine (December 2015), the popular global online marketplace. The picturesque resort hosts an average of over 120 weddings and corporate retreats throughout the year. The new Castle Rock Event Space will now accommodate larger meeting groups up to 120 people and 180 wedding guests.

“It was easy to say ‘I do’ to investing in our Castle Rock Event Space,” said Dan Garrison, general manager, of Ridge Tahoe Resorts. “Our brides and grooms frequently comment on how ours teams seamlessly handle details and alleviate worries while creating lasting memories.”

Noted interior designer Lori Amis of Atlanta, Ga., has created a clean, natural modern rustic look consistent throughout the new meeting/wedding event space. Materials for the new Castle Rock Event Space were repurposed to preserve the architecture feel of the clubhouse while maximizing and refreshing the space.

Carson City-based Miles Construction served as general contractor, partnering with The Ridge to perform all of their capital improvement projects since 2009, executing pre-planning, fabrication, staging and coordination in a short time-frame, all while the property was fully operational.

“Over the last several years Miles Construction has had the opportunity to work with The Ridge on many renovations and expansions,” said Cary Richardson, vice president of business development. “This latest project is yet another example of growth for this one of a kind property and a positive sign for our region’s economy. We are proud to have been a part of it.”

For more than three decades, The Ridge Tahoe has earned its reputation as a leading family resort. Kids who grew up on vacation at The Ridge are now getting married there, and bringing their own children annually to enjoy the resort. The property appeals to families with a year-round swimming pool, a 30-seat movie theater, kids’ arts and crafts center, games, arcades and in summer months miniature golf, putting green and playground.
