Rocklin, Calif.- On March 22, 2007, at about 2:44 AM, Rocklin Police Department officers and the Rocklin Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 6200 block of Barrington Hills Dr. in Rocklin.ย  Upon arrival smoke was seen billowing from the windows of the house which was under construction.

Two male subjects were spotted driving away from the area at a high rate of speed and were stopped by alert patrol officers.  The driver was arrested for driving under the influence and the passenger was arrested for public intoxication.

Field Evidence Technicians processed the scene of the fire as well as Rocklin Fire Department Arson Investigators.  Evidence gathered at the scene and inside the vehicle of the arrested subjects aided detectives in arresting the two subjects for igniting the fire at the structure.

Arrested for arson, burglary, vandalism, and alcohol related charges were Robert Craig Firestine, 19 yrs, of Rocklin and Jacob William Trout, 18 yrs, of Rocklin.

The house valued at $1,500,000 suffered $400,000 in damage.
