At 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, an undercover Roseville Police Department officer met a suspected drug dealer in the area of Sunrise and Cirby in order to purchase some OxyContin pills. OxyContin is a powerful prescription narcotic.

The suspected drug dealer, Yazid Ayyad, 21, of Carmichael, demanded to inspect the undercover officer’s money before showing him the drugs. Ayyad then took the money and started to leave. When the undercover officer asked him what he was doing, Ayyad allegedly threatened the officer, telling him he had a gun.

Other officers surrounded Ayyad and took him into custody.  A search of Ayyad’s person and vehicle did not produce any drugs.

Ayyad was arrested on suspicion of attempted drug sales and robbery. He is being held in the Placer County Jail on $250,000 bail.
