Roseville Police Department officers are asking for the public’s help in locating Ralph Alexander Mattos III. Mattos is suspected of involvement in a drive-by shooting on Wednesday evening.  Another suspect, a 16-year-old boy from Antelope, was arrested by Roseville Police Crime Suppression Unit officers a few hours after the incident.

Mattos is described as a 19-year-old Hispanic male, 5’6″ tall, approximately 145 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. His last known address was in Antelope, but his current address is unknown. He may be driving his relative’s white 2003 Hyundai 4-door sedan.

At 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, Roseville Police officers responded to a report of several gunshots fired from a vehicle on Fifth Street near E Street.  A 17-year-old Roseville resident was on foot in the area when a white Hyundai sedan cruised past him.  The two males in the sedan flashed gang signs, and then the passenger fired several shots at the pedestrian. The bullets did not hit anyone, and no one reported being injured. Officers believe that the shooting was gang-related.

A few hours later, Roseville Crime Suppression Unit officers arrested one of the suspects, a 16-year-old boy, at his home in Antelope. He is being held without bail in Placer County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a firearm, and participating in a criminal street gang.

Anyone with any information about this incident or Mattos’ whereabouts is asked to call the Roseville Police Department at (916)774-5000, or Roseville Crime Stoppers at (916)783-STOP. Roseville Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips leading to arrest.
