Roseville Police investigators are working to identify the suspect in a shooting that occurred at  7:45 p.m. yesterday in a strip mall parking lot on Sunrise Avenue at Cirby Way.  The victim, a male in his 50s, was shot in the abdomen and is being treated for his injuries.

At 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, Roseville Police and Roseville Fire personnel responded to a reported shooting in the parking lot of a strip mall in the 1000 block of Sunrise Avenue.  The victim had been standing on a sidewalk in the strip mall when another male approached him. Shots were fired, the victim fell, and the suspect fled on foot across the parking lot.

The suspect was described only as an Hispanic male of unknown age, approximately 5’8″ tall and 150 pounds, wearing a dark colored, possibly red or dark orange hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

Investigators have not yet determined whether the victim and the suspect knew each other, nor a motivation for the shooting.
