Help save Civic Theatre West! At 7 p.m. Friday, November 19, the Board of Directors of Civic Theatre West will host a town hall meeting and support rally in the Roseville Theater, 241 Vernon St., Roseville.
Civic Theatre West, formerly known as Magic Circle, is Rosevilles homegrown theater. The theater started in Roseville in 1987, and has since grown to become the second-largest community theater in northern California, offering the biggest childrens theater program in the state. Last Wednesday, November 10, the board of directors made the difficult decision to immediately stop all theater operations because of lack of funds. The company has been struggling to fund operations and a load of accumulated debt. Board president Cal Stevens said that the theater could not continue without a miracle.
Since that time, numerous friends of the theater have come forward, wanting to be part of that miracle.
Patrons, donors, sponsors, actors and other interested community members are invited to attend Fridays town hall meeting. At the meeting, the board will present a plan to save and reopen the theater, and will ask for the communitys assistance in making the plan a reality.
