UC Davis Alzheimer’s Disease Center Hosts Lecture

October 11th at MIND Institute

(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) – Denise Park from University of Texas will present “The Aging Mind: A Look under the Hood” as the last lecture in the six-part series focused on healthy brain aging and dementia prevention hosted by the UC Davis Alzheimer’s Disease Center.

The lecture will take place Thursday, Oct. 11 at the UC Davis MIND Institute Auditorium, 2825 50th St., Sacramento from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The event is free but reservations are required.

Park is the distinguished university chair in behavioral and brain sciences and a regents’ research scholar at the University of Texas at Dallas. She is also the director of research at the Center for Vital Longevity. Park’s primary research focuses on the study of the aging mind and is particularly interested in isolating a neural footprint during middle age that predicts who will age well cognitively and who will not.

Park’s talk will focus on aspects of the brain and behavior that may suggest the earliest stages of Alzheimer’s disease – even in a healthy, normally, functioning individual.
