Roseville, Calif.- Roseville Acting City Manager Rob Jensen recently announcedย the appointment of Dion Louthan as the city’s next director of the Parks, Recreation and Libraries Department, effective Jan. 11.

Louthan has worked more than 20 years in parks and recreation for municipalities.  He most recently served as Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Salina, Kansas, which is a three-time finalist for the National Gold Medal Award from National Recreation & Park Association. Prior to that, he was a recreation manager for the City of Henderson, Nevada.

“Dion’s background in sports tourism and event planning will be a great asset to our city in many areas, especially as the new sports complex is built in West Roseville,” said Acting City Manager Rob Jensen. “He also impressed our panel with his collaborative and inclusive leadership style.”

“I look forward to joining such a high-performing organization and vibrant community,” Louthan said. “It’ll be exciting to continue to build on the great momentum in the Parks, Recreation & Libraries Department.”

Louthan earned a bachelors degree in parks, recreation and leisure facilities management from the University of Kansas.

The position has been vacant since August when former PR&L Director Dominick Casey was appointed Assistant City Manager.
